1. What we collect
MoodWell collects the following information when you use the app:
- Account data: email address and display name when you create an account.
- Mood entries: mood ratings, reason tags, optional notes, and timestamps you log.
- Location data: approximate location at the time of a mood log, only if you grant permission. Location is never collected in the background.
- Device data: device model and OS version for crash reporting only.
2. How we use your data
- To display your mood history and insights inside the app.
- To sync your data across your devices when you are signed in.
- To send check-in reminder notifications at the frequency you choose.
- To improve app stability via anonymised crash reports.
We do not sell your data. We do not share your mood entries with any third party for advertising or analytics.
3. Data storage
Mood entries are stored locally on your device first (offline-first). When you are signed in, entries are synced to Supabase (a GDPR-compliant cloud database hosted in the EU) so you can access them on multiple devices.
4. Third-party services
- Supabase — authentication and cloud sync. Privacy policy

- Apple App Store / Google Play — app distribution and in-app purchases.
5. Permissions
- Notifications: used to send check-in reminders. You can disable this at any time in Settings.
- Location (optional): used to tag mood entries with your approximate location. You can disable this in Settings or your device's system settings.
6. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the email below. You can also export your mood data as JSON from the app's Settings screen.
7. Children
MoodWell is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes within the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
